MCEER Education

MCEER's education initiatives provide learning opportunities for students and educators at the K-12, undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as continuing education for practitioners.

MCEER's educational activities aim to

Programs include an Undergraduate Internship Program, and a Master of Engineering program featuring intensive study in the current state-of-the-art.

2007 REU Symposium held in Seattle

The 2007 REU Symposium was organized this year by MCEER and took place August 8-12 in Seattle, Washington. This year’s student group was significantly larger than in previous years, totaling forty-two undergraduate students from MAE, MCEER, NEES and PEER.

Tri-Center Field Mission to Japan

Four MCEER SLC members and UB PhD candidates, Bing Qu, Seda Dogruel, Georgios Apostolakis, participated in the 2007 Tri-Center Field Mission to Japan from July 21- 28, when the students and their faculty advisors visited various earthquake engineering testing facilities and universities and also engaged in a hands-on field assessment exercise.
