Interactive Web-Based Instruction and Presentations
The
Smart Structures Technology Laboratory (SSTL) at the University of Illinois
at Urbana-Champaign provides an interactive framework for students and
practitioners to gain fundamental understanding of a wide range of topics
in earthquake engineering. Four java-powered virtual experiments are
currently available:
- Structural Control using TMDs and AMDs
- Linear Base Isolation
- Nonlinear Base Isolation
- Nonlinear Two StoryBuilding
To access these virtual experiments, go to
the Smart Structures
Technology Laboratory, click on the "Education" button, and
then select Java-Powered Simulators for Structural Vibration and Control. The SSTL was previously the Structural Dynamics and Control/Earthquake Engineering Laboratory at the University of Notre Dame. Funding for the java-powered virtual experiments is provided by MCEER.
