Lending Policy
Monographs
- Monographs contained in the MCEER Information Service (IS) collection
do not circulate outside of the IS office.
- Exceptions exist for the following classes of borrowers: University at Buffalo
faculty, staff, valid proxy-card holders, and other academic institutions.
- The loan period for monographs circulated to any member of the aforementioned
patron groups is 14 days (measured from the date the item is borrowed by the
individual or received by the academic institution and including weekends/holidays).
- University at Buffalo faculty, staff, and proxy-card holders must show
a current university ID (or current proxy-card along with a university ID)
and complete an IS Local Borrower’s Agreement form.
- Academic institutions will receive a Remote Borrower’s Agreement
form, which must be completed and returned prior to borrowing the requested
item.
- The borrower, or in the case of academic institutions the borrowing institution,
is solely responsible for damage to or loss of a monograph. Replacement costs
may vary.
- Applicable fees and return policies apply as stated below.
A-V Materials
- A-V Materials contained in the IS in-house collection do not circulate
outside of the IS office.
- Exceptions exist for the following classes of borrowers: University at
Buffalo faculty, staff, valid proxy-card holders, and other academic institutions.
- The loan period for A-V materials circulated to any member of the aforementioned
patron groups is 14 days (measured from the date the item is borrowed by the
individual or received by the academic institution and including weekends/holidays).
- University at Buffalo faculty, staff, and proxy-card holders must show
a current university ID (or current proxy-card along with a university ID)
and complete an IS Local Borrower’s Agreement form.

Multimedia Materials
- CDs & DVDs contained in the IS collection do not circulate
outside of the office.
- Exceptions exist for the following classes of borrowers: University at
Buffalo faculty, staff, and valid proxy-card holders.
- The loan period for CDs circulated to any member of the aforementioned
patron groups is 3 days (measured from the date the item is borrowed by the
individual and including weekends/holidays).
- University at Buffalo faculty, staff, and proxy-card holders must show
a current university ID (or current proxy-card along with a university ID)
and complete an IS Local Borrower’s Agreement form.
- The borrower is solely responsible for damage to or loss of a CD. Replacement
costs may vary.
- Applicable fees and return policies apply as stated below.
Fees
- Non-UB patrons will be charged a $15.00 fee per item, plus postage.
- Special shipping/handling requests will be charged in addition to the $15.00 fee.
Return Policy
- Items may be hand-delivered to the IS office on or before the date due.
- Items may be returned at the borrower’s expense by insured first
class mail (or other delivery service) on or before date due to the attention
of the Information Specialist.
