Student Opportunities
UB S-STEM Scholar Program
UB offers a comprehensive scholarship and support program for underrepresented students pursuing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Eligible students must be US citizens. This scholar program offers:
- $10,000 annual stipend for two years' full-time study
- research opportunities with faculty mentors
- participation in professional conferences and meetings

Bridge Engineering at UB
Beginning Fall 2009, the University at Buffalo will launch a Master's Program in Bridge Engineering. This unique program is being offered with the support of the US Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration.
Transportation Systems Engineering at UB
The University at Buffalo's program in transportation systems engineering integrates transportation systems research with research in information and computing technology, extreme event hazard mitigation, and sustainable development.
2010-2011 EERI/FEMA Graduate Fellowsip in Earthquake Hazard Reduction
EERI is pleased to announce the availability of a Graduate Fellowship for the 2010-2011 academic year to support one full-time student in a discipline contributing to the science and practice of earthquake hazard mitigation. The EERI/FEMA fellowship provides a nine-month stipend of $12,000 with an additional $8,000 for tuition, fees, and research expenses.
