Ice Breaker & Early Bird Reception | Practioner's Day
On the evening of Wednesday, January 14, MCEER will host an Icebreaker & Early-Bird Reception from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m., in the Tom Bradley Tower, atop the 26th Floor of Los Angeles City Hall. All Practitioners Day registrants are invited to join MCEER Industry Partners, Students and Researchers in engaging conversation amidst a panoramic nighttime view of the spectacular Los Angeles skyline.
Meeting Today's Earthquake Engineering and Emergency Response Challenges
Today’s architects, engineers, planners, owners, emergency managers, policy makers, and public officials face a multitude of challenges in striving to secure the safety and strength of electrical power and water utilities, hospitals and emergency response systems … before the next damaging earthquake strikes. At the same time, researchers at the Multidisciplinary Center for Earthquake Engineering Research (MCEER) are working to develop new tools and technologies to help practitioners meet these challenges.
On Thursday, January 15, 2004, MCEER researchers will gather in Southern California to engage practitioner stakeholders and enlist their opinions, toward the goal of improving community resilience when disaster strikes. You are invited to join them in Los Angeles, for this day of dialogue.
