MCEER investigator, Michael Constantinou and several center partners will serve as lecturers for "Infrastructure for Earthquakes -- Seismic Retrofit of
Structures," March 19-22 in New York City.
The program is sponsored by the American Society of Civil
Engineers Metropolitan Section Infrastructure Group. It is held in cooperation with the ASCE student chapter and department of civil & environmental
engineering at Polytechnic University. The program will feature several presentations on applications of structural control technologies in civil infrastructure systems.
It will take place on

software developers will also exhibit each evening.
Constantinou will open the series on Monday, March 19 with "An Introduction to Seismic Isolation and Seismic Energy Dissipation." He is among the
world's leading authorities on the subject. A long-time MCEER researcher, he is also professor and chair of the Department of
Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering at the University at Buffalo.
A number of members of the center's Strategic Partnerships Network will also present papers. All are members of the Network's Specialty Interest Group on
