9th ICOSSAR Held in Rome

MCEER Executive Committee member and long time researcher Professor M. Shinozuka of the University of California, Irvine, co-chaired this year’s 9th International Conference on Structural Safety and Reliability (ICOSSAR’05), with Professor Giuliano Augusti. ICOSSAR’05 was held June 20 – 23, 2005 on the main campus of the Università “La Sapienza,” Piazzale Aldo Moro 5, in Rome, Italy.

Held every four years in different countries, the ICOSSARs are a major international forum for the exchange of information and discussion on recent developments in, and innovative application of concepts of structural safety and reliability. There were 530 participants and the MCEER family was represented by Professors R. A. Davidson, G. Deodatis, M. Feng, M. Grigoriu, G. C. Hart, H. Kunreuther, P. D. Spanos and J. N. Yang in addition to M. Shinozuka.
