MCEER Seminar and Live Webcast
MCEER will present a seminar and live webcast entitled "Examining Extreme Events: Hurricane Katrina's Impact on Critical Infrastructure, Societal Systems, Public Health and Environment:A First-hand View from Satellite and Field Investigations" at the University at Buffalo on November 2, 2005. Fifth National Seismic Conference on Bridges and Highways

MCEER is organizing the Fifth National Seismic Conference on Bridges & Highways, to be held September 18-20, 2006 in San Francisco. It is the fifth in a series of biennial workshops sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration focusing on the highway infrastructure. With the theme of “Innovations in Earthquake Engineering for Highway Structures,” the conference’s purpose is to increase awareness of seismic and geological hazards and to enhance the technical expertise of engineering professionals so they can mitigate the risk of failure or damage to our bridges and highways.

MCEER’s 2006 Annual Meeting will be held June
29-30, 2006 in Washington, DC
Information regarding the meeting will be available from the MCEER website
closer to the date.
The meeting was previously scheduled February 9-11.
