Students Recognized for MCEER Research
Several graduate students in the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering (CSEE) at the University at Buffalo received awards and/or recognition for their MCEER research work at the 2010 School of Engineering and Applied Sciences Scholarship Reception. The event was held on March 26, 2010 at the Holiday Inn, Amherst.
Pierre Fouché received the Chair’s Graduate recognition award for academic achievement and significant contribution to the department in recognition of his representation of the CSEE during the Haiti earthquake. Maria Koliou won the CSEE graduate student poster competition for “Seismic Protection of Electrical Transformer Bushing System by Stiffening Techniques.” The competition is designed to enhance student participation and recognize doctoral students’ progress and academic quality. Petros Sideris received the Paul J. Koessler Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded by the Peace Bridge Authority each year to a student in transportation/bridge engineering.
