NCEER Investigator Named President of ACI

Dr. Richard White, James A. Friend Family Professor of Engineering at Cornell University, NCEER Research Committee member and long-time researcher in the area of lightly reinforced concrete structures, has been installed as the 74th president of the American Institute of Concrete (ACI) for 1997-98. He began his term as President in April at ACI's convention in Seattle, Washington and his term will conclude in March 1998.

Dr. White was previously a vice president of ACI and is a former chairman of ACI's Technical Activities Committee (TAC). Before his election as vice president, he served a three-year term on the board of direction and was on TAC for five years prior to assuming the chairman's position for three years.
