Abstract: The Fourth National Workshop on Bridge Research in Progress was held June 17 - 19, 1996 in Buffalo, New York. This volume contains 67 papers presented at the Workshop. These papers represent a cross-section of current bridge research being conducted throughout the United States and Canada. The Workshop's sessions were divided into the following topics: Bridge Management and Condition Assessment; Seismic Performance, Design, and Retrofitting: Concrete, Masonry, and Composite Construction: Steel Bridges; Composite and Other Materials; and Analysis, Loads, and Bearings.
