About the Events

Quake Summit 2011 - Earthquake & Multi-Hazards Resilience: Progress and Challenges was held June 9-11, 2011 in Buffalo, NY. The meeting, a combination of the annual meetings of the George E. Brown, Jr. Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation (NEES) and MCEER (formerly the Multidisciplinary Center for Earthquake Engineering Research), featured more than 100 presentations on the latest research in earthquake engineering and multi-hazards resilience.

ASCE/SEI 7-10 Continuing Education Seminar: “Changes to Seismic Provisions of ASCE/SEI 7-10: Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures – Ground Motion, Structural, Non-Structural Components” was held June 9, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo, in Buffalo, New York in conjunction with Quake Summit 2011. This six-hour continuing education seminar reviewed the changes to the seismic provisions of ASCE/SEI 7-10 through in-depth instruction from members of the ASCE 7 Seismic Committee and subject-specific technical committees. Participants earned 6 PDH credits for attendance. Attendees were also invited to take part in Quake Summit 2011 on Friday and Saturday.
