Bridge Engineering Field Station

The Bridge Engineering Field Station is utilized to conduct seismic testing of full-scale bridges in varying weather conditions over time.

MCEER-Calspan Full-Scale Bridge Test
Two full-scale bridges were designed and built to determine the performance of seismic isolation technology over time and over a wide spectrum of temperatures and other environmental conditions. Initial tests took place at the UB/MCEER ECLIPSE Campus in November 2010. The tests will be repeated weekly over a period of five years and will be run remotely from the Structural Engineering and Earthquake Simulation Laboratory (SEESL) and NEES Equipment Site at the University at Buffalo.
