Condition:
Basement flooded. Obvious hurricane damage to property at the lower level on Tulane Ave. side.

Evacuation:
Well publicized news reports at the time suggested that evacuation efforts were made difficult by limited access to proper transportation given the flooded streets. Many patients taken across the street to Tulane Hospital and evacuated from there.

Current challenges:
According to personnel on site, planning for the hospital’s future is in the hands of a decision making team that is weighing alternatives.
