Damage to the transportation network was not limited to bridges. The photo
below shows large masses of asphalt pavement that were peeled off the roadway
and laid down on the embankment. These pieces landed over 50 feet to the north
of where they belonged. This photo was taken on US-90 southeast of Slidell,
Louisiana.
