The US Postal Services Building in the New Orleans Central Business district appears to be a 14 story steel frame building. The south façade of the building had about five broken windows that were boarded up as shown in Figure 1. More window damage occurred on the north side, shown in Figure 2, yet fewer than 2% of the windows were fractured. Likely, the most significant source of damage to the Postal Service Building resulted from flooding in the basement. At the time of inspection, the basement flood water had been pumped out and removal of all furniture, electronic components and other items was in progress. Figure 3 shows the remediation efforts to clean out the mold infested basement.
