International Workshop Series on Remote Sensing
Since 2003, leading experts in the field of remote sensing technologies have gathered for a series of annual international workshops to discuss its use in and application for improved disaster response. Workshops have been held in Irvine, California (2003), Newport Beach, California (2004), Chiba University, Japan (2005), Cambridge, UK (2006), Washington, DC (2007), University of Pavia, Italy (2008) University of Texas at Austin (2009) and Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan (2010). The next workshop will be held September 15-16, 2011 at Stanford University. A Symposium on Remote Sensing for Disaster Response will be held in conjunction with the workshop on September 14, 2011.
